Eagles: Better than we think?

Remember before T.O. played Katrina on the Eagles and every year we would go into the season being among the Super Bowl Contenders. We had no receivers and relied on Donovan and the defense to win games. Well now we go into the season with the lowest expectations since Donovan's first year, and we are preparing ourselves for another depressing season. My question to everyone is why? Donovan is at full strength for the first time since the Super Bowl year, and if we remember he was a Pro Bowl quarterback before going out for the season and he was on pace for 30 TDs and 4000 yards passing last year. The fact is we are thin at receiver but we have a good runningback in Westbrook and Bruce Perry is impressing people in camp, L.J. Smith is our best TE since Keith Jackson and Reggie Brown is the best receiver the Eagles had since Fred Barnett not named "Owens". The other receivers like Gaffney, Greg Lewis, and Pinkston can pick up the other slack. The offensive and defensive lines are improved and the linebackers are shakey but with veterans like Trotter and Barber I think they'll be fine especially with one of the best secondaries in the league behind them. Akers is back and Perry was a surprise at kick returner last year, with any number of guys able to return punt the special teams will again be an advantage for this team. They just need to get back what made them great before T.O. Solid defense along with everyone on offense playing their role and working hard. Most importantly Donovan has to be Donovan. He not only has to throw for accuracy, but also scramble and make things happen himself. This is probably the biggest question mark team for the Eagles since '99, but it is far from a lost season so don't be surprised to see the Eagles at the top of the division or wild card.
