Thanks ESPN for Creating this stupid Bobby Knight Story
Bobby Knight is one of the greatest coach's in the history of college basketball. He's been to 5 final fours and won three championships. I was watching Sportscenter innocently when they showed the highlight of him hitting the kid's chin and underneath it said "Bobby Knight slaps player" Now I know what a slap looks like, and it was far from a slap. Later they changed it to "Bobby Knight strikes player" and at that point I knew I would hear way too much about this from "The worldwide leader in sensationalizing any small story" The fact was Knight was talking to the player about the play before and he hit his chin because he was looking down. I've had that happen a lot since I'm a smartass and hate listening to authority figures. The fact is Knight takes on the tough dad role as coach, and he did absolutely nothing wrong when he hit the kids chin. It was not violent and it was not done to cause harm, it was done to get his attention. It happens 1000's of times a day with parent, teachers, and coaches but since it is Bobby Knight and ESPN we have to hear about it for days.
We want our kids to live in bubbles and any time anything that happens to them we all overreact. Whenever a boob is on TV or something else that is deemed as inappropriate by our tightass nation happens we overreact, however no one reacts to what's going on in inner-city schools. Basically middle america has to stop smelling their own farts and get their priorities straight. They are too concerned with what the media and other outside sources are doing rather than parenting their own children.
