Iverson Part Deux

The guy who kept your team afloat, the guy who led you to the only finals you've been in the last 23 years, the guy who made this team relevant the last decade, the guy who made it cool to wear a sixers jersey or jacket in public, the guy who the fans appreciated enough to see even when the team stunk, the guy who may be the best guard under 6 foot in the history of basketball, the guy who fought through every injury, every comment to keep playing his hardest for the team on his jersey, the guy who kept supporting the team and the city and the fans no matter how many trade rumors arose, the guy who never gave up, you finally got him to give up, congratulations Sixers you must be proud.

Iverson finally got tired of the bad mouthing, the supposed trades, and the terrible direction of the team and decided it was not worth it anymore. The fans love him, and always will because they understand that he gave his heart and soul to this organization throughout his entire career and the organization just kept shitting on it. I know I am an NBA fan. I am also an Iverson fan. But for the first time in my life I am questioning my allegiance to a team, because just like you did with Iverson you turned your back on the fans and just like him I am frustrated and thinking it might not be worth it. Good luck with the next ten years.
