Lance Armstrong

A man had cancer spead from his testicles to his lung and even his brain, he fights off death and illness to become healthy again. Already amazing right, but what if this man was a professional cyclist and competed again after beating cancer. He's near heroic, but what he came back to win not one, not two, but seven straight Tour de Frances. That is the kind of thing that makes a legend. This man fought off death to become one of the best athletes ever, and the French continue to go after him. When this lab came out that they found a urine sample of Armstrong's from 1999 that tested positive the French thought of it as a victory. They see Armstrong as an enemy and continue to try to make him out to be a villain and a cheater even thought they have no proof. They point to the fact that he was not this good of a rider before his cancer, but before his cancer he was very top heavy and through losing top weight and changing his training regiment he became a better rider Since 1999 when the Anti-Doping agency was created he has been tested dozens of times a year randomly. The only possible year he could have cheated was 1999 and even though I think he did not cheat even if he did he was coming off his deathbed and was winning the hardest race in the world. He still won six straight legitimately. He uses ever technology available and works his ass off to be at the top of his sport. Honestly I think the French are just tired of being beat. An American is coming in their country and dominating their native sport and they are jealous. Well as an American I will apologize for winning and for them sucking at everything that makes up life. I can't think of one country that would object to turning France into a landfill.

NFL Preview: AFC East

I decided to do a preview for the upcoming NFL season, and you may ask why? Well basically I'm bored and it is too early for an NBA preview. So here I go I will start with the AFC East.

1. New England Patriots- You really can't argue that they aren't the best team in the AFC East. The Patriots have won three of the last four Super Bowls and bring back most of the core that got them there. Players like Tom Brady, Corey Dillon, and Deion Branch will lead the defending champ's offense. They have a new offensive coordinator since Charlie Weis bolted for Notre Dame, and it will be interesting to see what adjustments will need to be made. They also lost two important pieces on defense, defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel and more importantly Tedy Bruschi. Bruschi will be out for the year after suffering a stroke a couple weeks after the Super Bowl and his skills and especially his leadership will be missed. This team is still one of the top defenses in the league and should keep basically the same schemes as last year. The Patriots will make the playoffs, and we have all seen what happens when they do.

2. New York Jets- The Jets season relies on Pennington's shoulders, literally. After offseason surgery it will be interesting to see if he can throw downfield like they plan to this season. He did play with Randy Moss though so he can throw it over the top I just don't know if he has the arm strength to zip a 20 yard cross pattern through a seam. They got Coles from the Redskins who I feel is a better overall receiver than Santana "don't call me Randy" Moss, but they do lose speed with the trade. Curtis Martin probably won't repeat last year's performance, but will get 1,000 yards and 6 or 7 touchdowns. They will feel the loss of LaMont Jordan if Martin goes down or shows his age. Their defense was one of the top 5 in the league last year and they add Ty Law from the division rivals to the mix. His experience and skill will be an asset to a fairly mediocre secondary. John Abraham's holdout could affect a line who was fantastic against the run last year. If he comes back Shaun Ellis and Abraham could both have double digit sack seasons again.

3. Buffalo Bills-The team came back from a 1-5 start to win eight of nine and stay in the playoff race until they lost their last game. J.P. Losman takes over for the departed Drew Bledsoe. The Bills have high hopes for this kid and hopefully their first round pick will pay off and being injured for most of the year last year, he can move which will give the receivers more time to get open and add a little excitement. Past Losman the offense looks pretty much the same with Willis McGahee being the unquestioned feature back this year. He is a beast and really has rewarded the Bills for taking a chance with him in the draft, he is a top 5 back. Moulds, Evans, and Reed round out a solid, yet not spectacular receiving corps. Their defense is good with Sam Adams and Aaron Scrobel. Their linebackers are the core of the defense with Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher roaming the field. Nate Clemens led the team with six interceptions and Lawyer Milloy will still put a big hit on when needed.

4. Miami Dolphins- This team could be anything from 11-5 to 5-11. Their receivers (Booker, Boston, Chambers) have all had 1,000 yard seasons and still are capable of having more, but Boston and Booker are huge question marks. They have arguably the best rookie running back and a top 5 back from two years ago in Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. But they have no quarterback, literally. Maybe if this was 6 years ago Gus Frerotte would be servicable but its not and he is old, and their back up is A.J. Feeley whose best play ever was getting the Eagles a third round pick. The Defense is good with guys like Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor, but if the offense does not get first downs they will let up 22 points a game again. This team is better than last year because they couldn't be any worse, but there are too many question marks to make them a playoff threat.

Livan

So during a game Livan Hernandez let his temper get the best of him and threw his glove into the crowd. Now if you never played baseball players are very particular about their gloves, it takes a long time to break in a glove and some players will go their entire career using the same glove. So naturally Livan wanted it back, but this guy had a better idea he decided to demand a ransom. He asked for playoff tickets, season tickets, and 18,000 dollars. Now for people who think athletes are whiny and spoiled you may want to make this man your god. Athletes many times think they can do whatever they want without consequence, but next time you think about throwing a personal item in the crowd you better have a check for 20,000 dollars.

What to do with T.O.

So again T.O. is not with his Eagles teammates and he left Lehigh in a hissy fit because the team talked about his lack of attendence at autograph sessions. Now I've defended T.O. because I realized how important he is to this team, but as an Eagle fan it has gotten to the point where he is not even worth it anymore. He has a sleazy low-life whispering into his ear, he is a head case and he only cares about himself. His talent always made up for his problems, but it has gotten to the point where it's not worth it anymore. He is over 30 and is constantly causing problems to the point where mild mannered Andy Reid threw him out of a meeting. So basically the Eagles have an important decision to make. I've decided to break down the choices the Eagles have what they should do.

A. Give him what he wants-Not an option. Giving in to his whining will not only be bad for the Eagles because it goes against their philosophy, but it also would be bad for the NFL. Teams have to take a stand against Rosenhaus and players who just signed contracts or haven't earned a better contract from holding out. If you have a problem with the current system get a better union.

B. Release him-I don't like this option because we are just giving away one of the best receivers in the league, so that gives way to the next option...

C. Trade him-This is becoming more and more the popular option for Philadelphia. If we did I'd guess he'd either be traded to Oakland or Atlanta. We are in pretty bad shape at wide receiver and I think we should also look into getting Koren Robinson too. I mean Jerry Porter, Robinson, Greg Lewis/Reggie Brown may not be TO, but still looks pretty good.

D. Keep Him-If he is on the field he won't dog it so if he decides to play under this contract we will have one of the better receivers in the league. If he decides not to play then we get our money back including some of his signing bonus.

At this point if we do keep him we are pretty thin at receiver, but I'd like to prove a point that complaining won't get what you want. So basically for the NFL keep him, but for the success of the team trade him.
